Blogrolling (new items added daily right now)

The audio from each session of the Desiring God National Conference is now available free. I appreciate the ministry of Desiring God, almost all of their resources are offered at no cost. This reveals a sincere vision to see the Gospel spread through the faithful expression of the Word.

Free online lectures by social scientist and Christian writer Os Guiness. There are some insightful articles relative to Postmodernism. I listened to a great book by Guiness on the flight home lastnight.

CJ Mahaney (at the T4TG blog) writes about his experience at the Desiring God conference and the importance of attending such conferences for pastors. I agree with his observations. I plan on attending T4TG in 2007, especially since it is just minutes from Frankfort.

Dr. Al Mohler and Dr. Paige Patterson discussed the counter views of Calvinism at the Pastors Conference during the recent SBC annual meeting in Greensboro.

I really appreciate Mohler's comments regarding the dangers of just studying theology with no practical application in the life of the believer. I share the same concern, there are too many that have made the pursuit of theology an idol. In my personal life, I am reading more and more about theological matters, but it is undergirding my application and practice as a pastor and hopefully showing up in my teaching, leading and the way I love people. The more I understand the grace of a sovereign God the more I want that grace displayed in my life and ministry.
